A Note about Little Healers: Animal Messages A-Z

First, I hope you are enjoying the Little Healers book series. It has been a joy to write and share with you all. I wanted to take a moment to talk about the book Little Healers: Animal Message A-Z and why I wrote it. First and foremost, I would like to clarify that I chose not to call this book or use the term "spirit animals." Using the term spirit animals is a form of cultural appropriation and can be offensive to Indigenous people. I certainly do not want to teach our little healers that at all. The book's intention is very different from what a spirit animal is to an Indigenous person. So- why did I write this book?

When I received my final Reiki Attunement or initiation to become a Reiki Master/Teacher, a shift happened in how I received messages from Spirit. When I perform a reiki or energy healing session, I channel messages for the recipient in many different forms ranging from hearing messages, seeing colors, feeling energy, seeing spirits, and many other ways. After my last attunement, animals began to appear to me regularly. After the session, we would then go look up the animal together, and the message that the animal provides is always spot on! It is pretty amazing! Seeing Animals was a new way of interpreting energy for my clients.

So, for me, writing this book gives little healers some insight into how they may receive messages as they develop their psychic gifts on their mindfulness journey. I completely respect that the term "spirit animals" is reserved for Indigenous people, and it is very different than how or why animals come to me with messages. I hope you read this book with an open heart and mind.
